On my way home from work last night I was listening to the news and there was a story about how because of the election guns are just flying off the shelves. I am sure this is because of the fear that the President-elect will change the gun laws. But listening further, most of the guns that were selling at a fast rate were not rifles, shotguns, or pistols--they were semi-automatic weapons. I am a firm believer in the right to own a gun, especially since my husband is an avid hunter. I do however have a hard time understanding why anyone in this country truly needs a semi-automatic weapon. These types of weapons aren't designed to kill deer, they are produced to kill people, simple as that. Case in point, an 8-year old boy shot himself in the head last week at a gun show when he was "practicing" shooting with an Uzi and he lost control of the gun. I just don't understand why anyone other than the military should own or have access to something like that. Call me naive I guess.
On a lighter note, as I was driving in to work this morning, I actually saw a station with gas priced at $1.98/gallon...hooray! I am stopping there to fill up after work ;o)

Inspired
Since I wasn't able to attend my high school reunion (20 years, where has it gone?) I have had the opportunity however to reconnect with some very dear old friends. One of those (Andrea) has inspired me to start my own blog, just as she has done. I find that being the working mom of three very busy boys doesn't allow for much time to chronicle this wonderful and blessed life that we are living. But since I have the opportunity to sit in front of a PC every day while at work, I believe I can sneak in a few minutes here and there to put my thoughts...hopefully this creative outlet can serve as a journal for my kids some day to see how much I love them and how thankful I am for this life I lead. Should be fun and I am ready to start!
